5th Grade Mexican cacti!

5th graders thought about the vocab word genre and considered the multiple genres that are used in art history. We created out own still lifes with real cacti and drew them making sure to think about the art element of space and overlapping!  We utilized our blending skills and our talents with pattern and balance when designing our patterned pots.

    1. I don't remember exactly how long it took... but most of our upper el. projects take at least 4 class periods of 50 min. each so about 2-3 weeks of classes.

  6. Hi! I teach art in NC and am going to have October be the month that we highlight Mexican culture. I was wondering, did you just use sharpie for the outlines and then fill with watercolor paint? These are really lovely!
