3rd Graders have been studying the life and art of Vincent Van Gogh. We looked at Starry Night and noticed the swirly brushstrokes in the sky. Inspired by our snowy weather, we drew snowmen on a windy Van Gogh night!
We just looked at Van Gogh skies and then drew our own "winter version." Drew the snowmen, traced with black oil pastel, drew the sky lines with colored oil pastel, then watercolored over the top. Good luck!
These are great! I'm doing the project with my class right now. Quick question. When you used watercolor you didn't go over the white snowman, correct?
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow did you do this?
I really want to try this in my class.
Thanks!
Sofie
